Job Description:
SDCAS is an established local charity that aims to promote the wellbeing of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants.
Our day centres provide safe spaces for clients to access free, holistic services. We provide hot lunches, advice and support around health, housing, immigration, education and employment, and a range of social and wellbeing activities.
Purpose of the role:
- To lead the committee in ensuring the effective performance of its governance responsibilities
- To work in partnership with the Director to help her / him achieve the objects set for SDCAS
- To ensure there is an effective relationship between the Trustee Board and the organisation, staff, volunteers, members, and stakeholders.

Application Resources:
Centre Leader (part-time)
Hours: 10 hours per week
Contract: 12 months contract (reviewable)
Salary: £11,492
Funded: National Lottery Community Fund

SDCAS currently require a part-time Centre Leader (10hrs per week) to manage our new weekly centre every Monday, based in the north of the borough where there are high levels of need.
As Centre Leader, you will be welcoming and advising clients, as well as co-ordinating activities such as English classes, lunches, crèche, advice and advocacy services, social activities, and generally ensuring the smooth running of the provision.
The role is ideal for someone with proven project management skills and the ability to lead a dedicated team.
Excellent organisational and communication skills are required and a minimum of 2 years experience working with asylum seekers/refugees. An ability to work under pressure with people with high support needs is essential.

Advice Coordinator
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £36,400 (subject to review)

We seek to appoint an Advice Coordinator to oversee our advice service. This is a new role designed to develop and centralise our advice coordination and maintain quality standards.
The successful candidate should preferably be OISC registered with AQS knowledge, and possess good communication, project coordination and line management skills which will be necessary to supervise and support our advice team.
